How cold is too cold for a Labrador outside in a Dogloo?

A buddy of mine is dog sitting for a friend and is trying to figure out it it's OK to leave a lab outside (in a kennel) while he works 2nd shift. It's supposed to get cold (for around these parts) down to the mid 20's this evening so he's worried it might get too cold for the dog. The dog has one of those Dogloo houses to crash in.

When I lived in Big Bear, CA, my roommate had 2 dalmations. They spent the winter outside in their dogloo and didn't seem any worse for it.

My Samoyed is an indoor dog - although she absolutely loves cold weather. She'll lay outside in the middle of the yard in a howling blizzard for hours, I'd have to make her come in. Then she walks in the house with like 2 inches of snow on her back and shakes it all over the place. I remember one particular time we had some snow and it had all melted except for one small patch, she laid down right in that small patch of snow, what a psycho dog.

if the dogs tongue is stuck to the dogloo...or if he has to thaw the dog out when he gets back..it may be a tad too cold....

The dog should be fine in a dogloo. Does the dogloo have a door? The only problem I can see is makin sure the dog has adequate unfrozen water

Outside dogs are fine down to 0 degrees or so if they have shelter.

I think so, the owner dropped the dog off with the Dogloo and a portable dog run. The dog will go indoors once my buddy gets home, it is house broken. It's just that he doesn't want to leave the dog in the house the entire time he's at work. Tomorrow he'll probably move the Dogloo and dog run into his shop building.

My cat has a 3x4x3ft cat house, insulated, with a sealing removable roof and heating elements throughout. Built it myself. Keeps him absolutely toasty warm, dry and happy even in the coldest weather.

Well, 10 degrees F is pretty cold. Especially since this is my cat's first year outside after 12 years living indoors.

His fur got super thick!
