How close are you with your parents?

Very close, I have no siblings and no family in my town.. they are the only family I have and I love them dearly!

I have the same relationship with them as EngenZerO describes.

When I was living with them, we had a mostly peaceful relationship. Mostly, it was the type of relationship that we recognized that the other existed, and respected each others space and position. Now that I've been out of the house for ~ 6 years and married for 4 years, we've gotten a lot closer. We see each other maybe 1-2 times a week, but we actually know each other pretty well and enjoy doing things together.

I talk to them both. I play World of Warcraft with my dad and his wife, and I talk to my mom almost everyday.
When she answers the phone, I usually tell her she needs to get a real job and lose some weight. Then she will tell me to go to hell and burn. All jokingly of course.

My dad and I were never very close, he was a "children should be seen and not heard" type. My mom and I are ok, i'd do anything for her and vice-versa but I sometimes go weeks between visits or phone conversations.

They weren't very warm parents and they raised a luke-warm child.

I'm very close to my parents - when I moved out for the first time, talked to them on a daily basis for like the first 6 months :shocked: I don't ever fight with them (as stated above, I also save that for my dumbass sibling - my sister!).

I'm kinda close to my parents. They live nearby and I enjoy visiting with them, but only do so maybe once a week. I like my space and they like theirs.

somewhat close. I visit them at least once a week, and we haven't fought in a very long time... but I'm not nearly as close to them as my sister is. my sister and my mom call eachother at least 2-3 times/day. outside of my weekly visit, I don't talk with them all that often.

Talk to them every night, visit, hang out... Girlfriend is very close to them as well... We never fight or argue about anything...

Work on cars all the time, fishing, ATVing, etc. with my dad...
Help prepare food, clean up, help with puzzles and crafts with my mom...

Very good people. I think the people that are close to their parents are very fortunate...

we stopped fighting after I moved out... we're always on good terms now that I only see them once or twice a week.. but we do speak at least every other day on the phone/email.

I'm not close to my parents at all. I don't hate them, but I was raised a certain way. I'm kind of close to my mother but not my father. I must say I often times feared my parents. But now I'm ok about it. I sort of still fear my father (he's 65) but I'm scared that one day I'm going to out all in rage against him.
