MBNA got bought my Bank of America a few years ago, so they've got plenty of clout now. I seem to remember MBNA being the last significantly sized credit card company that only did cards, no normal banking services, so I'm betting it was more a lazy CS rep.Originally posted by: Scarpozzi
My parents once got double-charged from Priceline.com and said that their Mastercard company MBNA claimed they didn't have enough clout to get the second charge reversed. They dropped the card after being members for 18 years.
As for the OP, I use my cards so infrequently that I just look at the statement and make sure I remember all the uses. I've only called in once on a odd looking charge, turned out the merchant's transaction submission system had an error and didn't put the charge through until a month later.
