Police officers want to give the belief that they are impartial, unbias and have no reason to lie. Unfortunately, this is not true. They are humans and subject to bias and other factors just like you and me. Also, they don't like you to know about their quota system on tickets and other crimes. It's not always called a quota system in their departments, but promotions and demotions are done in accordance with the amount of tickets or crimes they prevent. Likewise, they can also be demoted due to lack of tickets or intervention with crimes. If you had two police officers working under you and one wrote 700 tickets a month and one wrote 200 tickets a month, who would you promote? So back to your question: Does a cop lie? Yes, he has motive, he has opportunity, and personal profit to lie. Sometimes you can get a cop to even admit this under oath, but often they will just continue to lie.

I assume you are a police officer with 20 years under your belt to be able to provide this stunning insight?

That, or you're a 17 year old kid that got harassed once at 2am on a Saturday night when you were blasting music from your lawnmower-sounding Honda Civic?
