My celeron 433 @ 540 may have finally died. I restarted after installing crimson skies, but it didnt boot up again. When i try to power it up, everything seems to turn on inside the case except the cpu fan itself, and it wont post. there is absolutely no video whatsover, even though i can hear the hard drive powering up. I dont really know what is up with it, although it could be the power supply too. The only thing is, the computer seems to have power, so i dont know. I also tried resetting the cmos, just in case the cpu could no longer handle the overclock, but that didnt help either.

Anybody have any suggestions??

thanks,
butch

Completely softmenu driven overclocking, no jumpers on MB or the slocket if there is one? Didn't mention what MB...

Only way I know to see if a CPU is good is to put it in a known good board and see if it boots. In your case (pun intended) it could be a few different things, may or may not be the CPU. Of course if you can borrow a CPU you can verify your own stuff easily enough.

Do you have a speaker hooked up? Good.

Remove everything from mobo except CPU and fan (vid card, memeory, etc) and turn it on. If no beeps, the board or CPU are dead. Work up from there.

Borrow another Celeron and replace it. If your system boots up ok with new CPU, but it doesn't with your CPU, then your CPU is FUBAR (technical term for dead) ;)
