You don't have any clue what the Mormon take is, you want paedophilia, rape, child abuse in every single way and fundamentalist to the extreme, that is where it exists. All led by a an elder council that can rape your wife or 5 year old daughter and you'd better be OK with that or you're shunned not only from the church but from society, forget any CV anywhere, you've been working in that community, forget your family if they stay with the church.
The Mormon church is a sect that would rather see you dead than exposing them and many people have been sacrificed in it's name.
Not to mention, it makes absolutely no sense, it starts with an alien that gets his own planet, kobol where he and his alien wife conceives of a son, Jesus that goes to North America where all the Jews live and then millennia later a guy who was convicted for fraud using seer stones now use seer stones to tell a story that gives him the rights to wealth and the women (mainly underage women) to his bed.
Take ALL of the worst of Christianity and you have the unholy mix of scientology and Jehovas that is mormonism today, in complete denial or their crimes.
Honestly, I can think of a pretty decent cross-section of other flavors of Christianity over here that've done something to match basically all the allegations against the Mormons, and a pretty decent amount of Mormons that aren't on board with that sort of thing (Utah Mormons are not well liked). Keep in mind that Mormons are a really popular target in the US for better coverage of their sins, while things like Accelerated Christian Education, which is just flat out child abuse and a means of making stunted adults who are only capable of navigating bureaucracy, or Lester Roloff's Rebekah House, which was again hideously abusive in a different way, get covered up. The reason I mention those two is that the only real prominence either got was GWB's administration drew heavily on the victims of ACE and he specifically pardoned Roloff. You don't hear much about them. You don't hear much about the Quiverfull movement, except for the time a TV show featured some of them until it turned out the man was raping his kids.
Religion in the US is a much deeper, darker hole than you're giving it credit for, and take care that you aren't overlooking other nasty things just because one path's more worn.
Anyway, I'm not religious, I'm only speaking from a theological perspective, and the only reason I brought up Mormonism in particular is because there is literally no other non-heretical flavor of Christianity that doesn't leave the unsolved problem of an actively immoral god.
