A few weeks back Shoprite had cabbage for 7 cents a pound. I realize that this is a loss leader sale but how much would they be willing to lose? How can farmers make any money if they are only getting 20 to 30 cents per pound of cabbage? Can you even buy dog sh!t for 7 cents a pound

Normally its like 25 to 40 cents per pound but once a year Shoprite puts it on sale for 7 cents a pound (happened last year also)

Safeway had ears of corn, 10 for a dollar once. We bought 20 but they only charged us $1. Was really good corn too, mmmm.

Or was it 20 for 99c... either way it was a sweet deal.

Laws of supply and demand. Cabbage sucks, so from time to time they probably have to lower the price to get rid of it. Then 4 weeks later, Joe Consumer finally thinks to himself "Why the HELL did I feel the need to purchase 100 heads of cabage?".. but it doesn't matter, because it's no longer the store's problem.
