some people are so close minded...its like you don't want to buy a console out of some ridiculous principle, like it would make you any less of a computer nerd or something. If you don't have a console, you miss out on great games like Zelda, Mario, and Metroid. There are no PC equivalents to those games, so if you really like good games and not just eye candy, you'd own at least one of the consoles so you could play those games. And people here say buy the xbox for eye candy, but infact its you pc gamers that care about eye candy because you keep stating how the pc runs better resolution or whatever. I could care less as long as it looked ok...it doesnt have to be cutting edge but moreso it should be fun to play.
Yeah, not wanting to buy the same thing twice is a "ridiculous principle" Some people are so brainwashed...

I prefer consoles myself. Most of the games I like have been released on consoles only, or at least first. Consoles just work, I don't have to worry about drivers, I don't have to worry about if my video card can handle the game at a reasonable rate, etc.

i thought we established that they arent the same thing. They're used for different purposes like I mentioned and as other people mentioned, so buying both would enable you to play games in different ways.

PCs can do things which consoles can't, but not vice versa; thus it's not entirely true to say they're used for different things. The only real difference is in available games and said games' likelihood of supporting two or more players - which is only low in the first place because of peoples' preference for consoles, not because of any limitation with PCs.

yeah you're right that pc's can do everything, but until not they havent been used properly for genres like sports, action and figthing. Its not capability but its just not done. so if you wanted to play those types, you would have to get a console.

My PS2 can play GT, which is the principal reason I bought it ~4 years ago.
I'm not sure that this idea of yours to boycott consoles will ever work considering the popularity of the consoles being bought by the "brainwashed" (no need to resort to insulting people here, gurck, lets just stick to the point in hand, eh?).
Suffice to say there are and will always be some fantastic games available on console only, and since the things are so cheap you might as well pick one up just for a laugh. That's what I did. It only gets used every few months, if that, but I still feel it has justified the cash I spent on it.

Finally, I wouldn't be comfortable carrying around even a shuttle-style mini PC with me. The cost of such machines and delicate parts such as the HD and CPU heatsink would steer me away from putting it in my car's footwell or in a backpack to cycle someplace. Also, there would be no point as none of my PC games support two simulatenous players.

lots of games just need a mouse and keyboard and high resolution to "work". That could ofcourse easiy be delt with if they were supported by the consoles. The high resoultion is only just appearing with the new consoles and HDTV.
