Don't ask me. I put a steering stabalizer, 200 front shocks, poly bushings, rear gas shocks and a rear swaybar, and it stll handles like hell.Biggest improveement was wider wheels.

Thicker sway bars and new shocks (dampers) are your best bet.

As for the light steering: Get used to it. That's how Camry steering is.

no shocks, it has struts. there is a difference. and camrys dont come stock with a sway bar, that i know of anyways

I know the technical differences, but because struts function as shocks (as well as substituting for the upper suspension links), I used the term interchangeably. (And now I've edited it.)

And very few cars don't have a sway bar up front. I bet the Camry does, too, but it's just not enough for the OP's liking. (Many cars don't have one in the rear, however.)

It's been a while, but I think a quick test for if the struts were bad was to push down on the back of the car and see if it returns to the original unloaded position without any additional bounce/movement. Since you have a new car available to you, try it on both cars to see if there is any difference in response.

thanks for the tip.

ill try the strut bar because they are pretty cheap. (though, on my previous car [sentra se-r], adding a strut bar made no palpable differences).

I actually mentioned sway bar (not strut bar).
