How can people actually drink 2-3 liters of water a day?

When i was at band camp here in Tucson last week, i was on my feet outside for about 10 hours a day. It was not abnormal for me to drink about 1 gallon of gatorade and about 2 more of water.

Tell me you didn't just say that.😀

Made me chuckle and think about American Pie <---- aceman

JellyBaby, my cardio-pulmunary system is probably healthier and in better shape than most 20 year olds.

band camp is nothing like american pie, well, at least this one was not.....

water = good

i usually drink about 1-2 quarts of milk a day and 1-2 quarts of water purified / spring water

the colder it is the better it tastes

Some people are seemingly immune to the ills of smoking. I hope you and your family fall in this category.

I was drinking 2-3L when I lost 35 pounds... water is a good appetite suppresent... in fact most people mistake dehydration for hunger, and will eat.

I probably drink only 1-2L now though... I just hate having to run to the bathroom all the time 🙂

<-- Tries to drink that much but usually never does except on workout days

I get at least 75oz a day of water no matter what day, but on workout days it's usually double or more. I like it usually with ice

Reverse osmosis system = water soooooooooo good 🙂

I'll drink my mt dew/mello yello for the day, but I also drink like at least 100oz of water per day... mmmmmmmmmmm it's the only thing that truly quenches my thirst...

i drink it like a fish. gallon a day, sometimes less. i just sorta sip it all day long. I'm a healthy SOB too, and I know water is a part of that. never get hangovers either, and it's cause of all the water 🙂

I used to drink 40-100 ounces of soda a day when i was in school...when i came back i started lifting and i also found out i had an s-load of cavities. my friend made me start drinking water(cause i was addicted to soda)...a couple months later, I love it. Now I can hardly stand the look of soda because i know it's only going to make me thirsty and drink more. I drink so much water in a day it's actually pretty crazy. I love it though, cause it cools me down and i like it for the feeling more so than the taste. and when it's cold it kicks ass.

I'm probably drinking at least a gallon a day...sure im peeing a lot more but at least it's clear and not dark yellow, haha.

Water is the only thing you can gorge on and it won't hurt you. Everything else tends to "catch up" with you at some point (too much salt, artificial sweetener side-effects, heart stimulant, hits the teeth, etc.).

Have you heard of water intoxication? and those people who drink tons of water a day without sweating it off, this is bad for your kidneys.

and how can you, Aceman, not stand water? that seems kind of weird. I mean its water, whats not to like?

Did that all rhyme on purpose?

I hope you don't have ms, and atleast you're drinking caffeine free stuff for the test.

Enjoy your health while you have it, and drinking all that caffeine and sugar crap can be very challenging on your system in the long run.

Anyhow, if you have ms, no ones going to need to teach you about the value of appreciating your health, so why not start taking care of yourself better now.

That said, I think plain water is sucky too. 🙂

Water intoxication requires massive amounts of water... My mom treated a girl who tried to kill herself that way, and she drank more water than I thougt was possible (sorry, I don't recall the numbers).

In general drinking lots of water is good for your kidneys. If you don't sweat off the water you get rid of it another way 🙂

Yes e.g. some people with heart failure need to restrict water for that very reason. With normal health you can drink water without concern.

Yes. I thought a rhyme might get through to him but I suspect, as with most in his situation, it simply bounced off his shielding. You gotta want it, they say.

I have a 52 oz mug from QT, I fillit up with Icewater about 3-5 times a day. If I don't consume that much per day, I feel sluggish.

Man, I thought my 44oz mug was big. I drink at least two of these at work a day, drink water before work and at home. My refrigerator rarely has anything but milk and water in it. No beer, soda, koolaid, etc.

i have trouble buying the worlds most abundant resource... i drink from the schools water fountains even though they are supposedly "contaminated".. but i think thats just rumors behing held on to and passed down from when the water really was bad here a few years ago.
