How can I work in London for 1 year

So my fiance and I have discussed moving there. We are from chicago, went to school in Bloomingonton, IN. Moved to Phoenix, AZ. In a year we are moving to Seattle for a couple years.

but after that, I really want to try somewhere out of the country, that isnt too much of a language barrier. She is in finance, I'm a web designer. How do we go about moving there? Do you have to get hired by a company that will sponsor you there?

I remember reading that it's hard to move to london unless you get sponsored by a company.

if she works for a global investment bank they will most likely have an office in LDN and she could possibly find a position there on a temporary basis. i've had numerous friends do this.

EDIT: sorry i forgot about you. you would have to find a company to sponsor you i think.

you might be able to do work as a contractor if you incorporate yourself. my wife did that to live in LDN for 6 months. it was during the y2k prep so she was hired pretty easily.

London is really really expensive so make sure you won't have a money issue..

QFT, but find a cheap place / have company pay for your place and you'll bank a shit ton. Double your money when you go back to the states. 😀

I've got a buddy that had some trouble getting overe there and getting a license to work. You might want to look into it really hard before you decide.
