How can I watch the video from a .bin/.cue file ?

Hi there,

I downloaded this movie, in .bin/.cue format, which is 800 MB - too large for me to burn on a regular CD. I can probably buy a 99-minute CD, but I don't know yet if the movie is worth it, so I want to see it first.

How do I go about watching the video "inside" these files?

You can just mount it in DaemonTools & play it like a regular CD. You need a software mpeg2 player (i.e., PowerDVD) to watch it though (or need the mpeg2 codec to play it in other players such as Windows Media Player).

These files DO burn to a regular "700 MB capacity" CD. In Nero, go to File/Preferences/Expert Features. Enable overburn, and change time from 80 minutes to: 82 minutes, 30 seconds.
Logic would tell you that 800 MB of data would not fit on a 700 MB disc. However, these 800 MB videos were designed (with compression) to just barely fit onto a normal 700 MB disc.

That's how I did it (daemon tools, svcd codec). IsoBuster wasn't working for me for some reason.

In many cases, simply renaming .bin to .mpg will work as long as you have the proper codec.

Lets you create virtual CD drives and use ISOs or bin/cues and so on as if they were a CD in the virtual drive. It also emulates various copy protection so games work.

Just burn the image. It will probably be a SVCD that will fit on a regular 700MB disc.

Bah, that's a waste of a disc. Even with discs as cheap as they are I'd rather not burn it unless I'm giving it to someone to watch in a console DVD player.
