I need to find a new alarm clock. Today is the first day of classes and I just woke up 1 hour late. I must get a new alarm clock. What clocks do you peeps use?

One that goes *beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep* until I turn it off.

I have a $15 alarm clock, nothing special. It's a loud little bastard.

I use my cell phone as a backup, one alarm on each side of the bed.

The stress of determining which alarm is going off & shutting it off, & then repeating the process is enough to get me up reliably.

Haven't overslept in a long, long time.

I automatically wake up when I want to. But generally speaking I can't sleep in very much. But between 5am-11am, I can pretty much control what time I'll get up at, almost regardless of what time I went to sleep.

I have a cheapo alarm clock, but it's loud.

The key though is, put the alarm clock across the room, so you have to GET UP to turn it off. That is/was my problem... I'd hear the alarm and just roll over and turn it off. Now I have to physically get up, and turn it off. Helps in getting up.

Set a scheduled task on your computer to play the sound of an AWP firing in CS at whatever time you want to get up. Then, turn your speakers on as loud as possible, and go to bed! Your roommates/neighbors/the whole damn dorm might call the cops or kill you but it will certainly wake you up!

Routines have helped me a lot. Everything in my day is a routine. I like it that way. Keeps me peaceful and calm.

Sounds boring, you must be old.... ;):D:p:Q:eek::confused:

Nevermind waking up the neighbors, the SWAT team would set up snipers right across from my building :)

Have a kid.;)

My 9 month old wakes me up bright and early every morning.

Only downside is no snooze button. I've tried pushing her nose but that doesn't seem to work.

I wake up at 3:30PST like clockwork no alarm needed. But back in college I had a bose wave radio set at volume 80 on the most annoying bombastic bastard I could find (Rush Limbaugh at the time) worked like a charm. Is he still that way? Might work then.

The alarm clock across the room is a good way. I like to set mine to music, not the beeper, because the beeper is one of those sounds that makes me want to dive headfirst out the window every time I hear it.

I did the alarm clock across the room thing for a while, but when I got in college, my classes were late enough that I was usually waking up before alarm. Then, I got a job that required I get up at like 6am every morning. I NEEDED the job, so I couldn't be late. That was motivation enough to get me up every morning with the alarm. I do like hitting the snooze, so I'll set the alarm 21 minutes (7min snooze) early, so I can hit it a maximum of 3 times.

Any more, I can't sleep much later then 8-9am, regardless of how late I've been up or what I was doing the night before ;). I guess I'm getting old :D

I set mine to radio, I used to use the alarm beep but I got used to the sound and made it part of my dream.

I use 3 alarm clocks in my room one beeps LOUD and then 2 minutes later the other alarm starts blaring LOUDER music. My backup alarm starts souding 10 minutes later and I must remove my sleepy a$$ from the bed and walk/crawl across the room to turn it off.

Get an alarm clock which is lound and annoying to you. Then place it as far away from your bed as possible. That way, you HAVE to get up even if you're just going to hit "snooze".

I use a Philips alarm clock. This thing sounds so terrible. I bet people wake up on the other side of the street. It's impossible to sleep when it's on, and it was quite cheap, less than $20 IIRC.

Just buy an appliance timer at Home Depot and hook your stereo up to it. 50% volume should do the trick :D

That's what you need, something that sounds so damn annoying that it throws you out of bed by the sound of it, that's why you need to have a Sony Drea Machine and blair Blink18fag.

Or you could record some unpleasant signal on a CD and set it to play in your stereo. Up the volume to the maximum, you won't oversleep.
