...is on my Mandrake 7.2 machine? I just read in Linux Mag about KDE2 and I'm wondering if I have it.

Thanks!

Good question...I was wondering the same thing. I just installed Mandrake 7.2 and noticed on thier web site that it comes with KDE 2, but I only see KDE.

If you can't tell the difference between KDE1 and KDE2 by just using it why should you care at all?

What?? Did you read the question???? There is a huge diff between KDE and KDE 2. The question is where is it??? Mandrake 7.2 comes with KDE 2.

since mandrake is an RPM based distrobution, open up a terminal and type rpm -q kde. This will report what kde version. I believe, since I don't run KDE so this is a guess, in the control panel there is a place that will tell you what version of kde you are running, what kernel you have, and what CPU type you have. RPM -q KDE will defianlty tell you whats installed.

Thanks, Jim!

rpm -q kde yields "package not installed"(?!?!?), but your control center idea was spot on - Mandrake 7.2 uses KDE2.

Thanks again!

I only loaded the Install CD. How do I go back and install the other one and what does it give me?
