I want to get a pcmcia usb card so I can use my digital camera and download pictures to my laptop and not buy a bigger memory stick. However, all the usb cards say they require a type II cardbus compatible slot.

How do I know if I meet that?

Did you try checking in your System Device Manager? I'm pretty sure it should say in there if it is a cardbus pcmcia compatible slot.

edit: I'm too lazy to turn on my laptop to check and make sure.:)

The easiest way is look at the plastic surrounding the PCMCIA slot, do you see an icon that says "CB"? If so, then you have a cardbus capable laptop. To get it running in cardbus mode, you may have to switch it in the BIOS. What laptop do you have?
