How can I tell how fast my computer is?

How about entering/checking the BIOS on startup? You should be able to find many of the "details" there. Computer "Speed" is more than just a function of the CPU's Mhz . . . you might consider also d/l'ing a benchmarking suite like SiSoft's Sandra. ;)

SiSoft Sandra has some decent motherboard and CPU detection utilities. Plus, you can benchmark it and get some idea of where it should fall.
