I swear, im gonna cry if i have to hear his pitiful half meow, half scratchy moan anymore. Sometimes he even opens his mouth and a 'cackling' sound comes out, other times nothing at all (he almost looks like hes yawning)..... Haha, anyway to teach him to either do it right or shutup? 😀

You clearly are not a well trained human !! Your cat has been honoring you by allowing you to hear his melodious voice in all it's glory and here you are complaining ? Ingrate !!! 😀

You are clearly blessed !! LOL, my Yaz must weigh 20 pounds but has the smallest meow you ever heard, people sit here cracking up when he opens his mouth, too funny 😀

<< Beat it. 😉

Exactly. That's the only way to teach a retarded animal. Beat it till it can't be beat any more. And if the beast still doesn't shape up, you guessed it, commence the beatin.

I've heard that breed has a lot to do with the cat's "voice." I had a Russian Blue whos voice was pretty human-like. It sounded like she was trying to talk when she "meowed". Not to mention she would actually bark when excited, (i.e. when she was outside and stalking a bird or some other prey).

aphexII i only see one solution: sit the cat in front of you. look at he straight in the face and meow like you want him to meow until he gets it. make sure the cat pays attention. it should only take you a few months of 10 hours a day teaching. if you wanna fix it, there ya go. 😀

You ever try sitting down with the cat and meow it over like responsible beings?

oh, and btw, your site has quite a few broken links and the forms don't work. 😛
Now your logo on the other hand, is pretty sweet!

MMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW

<< Yo,
You need another cat to teach him how to meow.

I've also got a Russian he doesn't make barking noises but he does try to "converse" in human type patterns I'll speak to him, short paws, he'll answer, I respond and so on 🙂

Btw, Russians are wicked smart aren't they ? Ninja constantly amazes me with the stuff he does and his long memory span.

dude, what you need is a japanese bobtail...

their voices consists of various ranges and they also sing....

I agree completely. Give that cat some love.
BTW, when they open their mouth like they're going to meow but nothing comes out, it's called a "not-meow"
And the scratchy, funky meow is normal in some cats.

No kiddin! Rascal's the closest I've ever seen to a trained cat... she's incredibly smart and has an awesome personality. 🙂 She's the reason I'm a firm believer that cat's are way better than dogs... lol <-- (Bring on the flamethrowers)

My Ninja is the sweetest, most gentle creature, he's very considerate when he gets on my lap to keep his claws sheathed
he's also a "pawsy" cat in that he uses his paws like they were hands wet cat food gets scopped onto a paw and not eaten
straight from the bowl. When I'm sleping or distracted and he's trying to get my attention he'll gently pat my face and give me a smalll meow. He's a very charming feline 🙂

LOL I wish I could say the same... Rascal will eat with her "hands," but when she wants your attention, she's gonna get it one way or the other... she'll holler atcha if you're not listening to her... 🙂 Not to mention she scolds me when I do something she hates... lol But she is really cute at night, she won't sleep unless she's laying on the pillows between my wife and I and one of us are holding her paw... Despite all her rudeness, she is a very "clingy" and attached cat. 🙂

[edit]
Sorry about the thread-hijack... lol As you were.....
