How can i stop spam SMS from reaching my phone?

WTF Cingular. They charge for every damn spam SMS I receive. How do I stop this nonsense? :|

take your phone # off of msn messenger

I got an invite from a friend to join this sms.ac site or whatever. She said it was great. 5 minutes later I had 4 SMS messages, 4 more that night, 6 more the next day... I cancelled it online immediately and in the comments box I said that it was a bloody spam service.

I know that T-Mobile will not block SMS.

They will credit you for unwanted SMS, but they cannot block it.
