How can I share a USB hard drive over a wired network??

I have a 400g WD Mybook USB, and I have a lot of files on it for storage of my media(no programs installed just storage). Well i have it shared as I have shared other countless files/folders over my home network and nothing I do seems to work when trying to access the drive via another computer.

I have checked every possible security/permissions setting I can find in my network/share options and added everything I can to the list of whom to share to/with and still I get an Access denied message and when I hit the "diagnose" button it says something about a user name and password and user account denied. None of my settings, accounts etc have a password on them so I dont understand why it would even give this message.

Both systems are running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 over a wired network and have always shared internal drives without any problem.

Can anyone offer any help? Tech support from WD isnt available (time ran out) so mfg help is a no go.
