Is there a config where i can edit this anywhere? The strain for that game is bad, i think it sets it to lowest @ that resolution automatically. thanks alot

thought the newer drivers can force refresh settings at different resolutions. pretty sure i saw that. i used to use powerstrip when i used crt long ago, it forced refresh. but its less user friendly. pretty sure its in advanced display properties these days.

nooo....i have crt lol, im not so dumb, i wouldnt ask it if i had lcd 🙂 The thing is, i run my desktop at 1024x768. i run my CS:S game at 1600x1200. The game itself has no option that lets you choose what your refresh rate is. the max my monitor refreshes at 1600x1200 is 76Hz. I think the game automatically chooses a lower refresh rate than the max i can run, thus me wanting to higher it. ideas? Thanks

Try changing your desktop to 1600x1200 and setting the refresh rate to whatever you want, then change it back to 1024x768. That might work.

If not, and if you have an ATi card, get Rage3DTweak. You can set a specified refresh rate for every resolution using that.

Sure it is. It may not strain your eyes but the image is still needlessly capped to a slow speed, and slows the mouse cursor movement down annoyingly.
