Ok, I downloaded Scanrec.
My modem is an AOpen FM56-RU. I have the phone line and the telephone connected in the proper places, and I have a speaker cable going from the speaker jack on the modem to the line in on the computer.
When I run Scanrec, it doesn't pick up any audio from the phone at all, except for small sounds whenever I pick up or hang up the phone. Speaker volume on the modem is at maximum. I can definitely record the modem dialing to my ISP, but phone conversations don't work. Do I have this wrong? Is the speaker jack on the modem for dialing sounds only? How do I record phone conversations?
Scanrec is set up properly. If I unplug the speaker cable from the modem and plug that end into the headphone jack on the computer, I can record whatever audio is playing the computer. My modem just isn't outputting anything. How can I get this to work?
