I've got a Sirius SV1 radio that was given to me, but it's DC powered only. I've searched the Sirius site and it appears there are no adapters for this unit. Currently, I have jerry rigged a standard ATX computer power supply with a paper clip and it supplies the power I need. Most of the time. The PSU will occasionally just shut down for whatever reason. Annoying! It's not hot at all, so I don't think heat is an issue.

What can I get in place of this PSU to provide clean DC power to the radio?

A car battery would be an obvious choice, I don't want to do that. Too big and ?battery fumes?

you need to find the maximum current consumption of the radio, then just find a 12V DC power brick rated at least that much current - i.e. Sirius says it needs ~12V 1A, then anything at least 1A will work ( i'd get maybe 1.25A or more ). that ATX supply is way overkill.
