How can I overclock this Pentium 4 1.6 ghz (Not Northwood)

I have a P4 1.6ghz
its a dell 4300s system...
any ideas on how to overclock this thing?

up the bus speed in the BIOS if you can, but don't expect too much of an overclock (200 mhz tops).

You aren't gonna overclock anything from Dell, Gateway, Compaq etc. Most of them use Intel Brand motherboards, which have no overclocking options.

I had a compaq before and that was "overclockable"

don't see anything in the bios...
guess that means I'm stuck with 1.6 and my "free" burner....

its a socket 478,
so I can probably upgrade to a northwood right?

Probably, but what's the point? Without the overclocking, it's just about 5%-10% faster clock for clock. The real value is setting a 1.6 to 2.1 Ghz, etc
