How can I not have youtube and gmail link to each other all the time?

I constantly have to log out of one and into the other, as I don't want my personal email to be my youtube account.

Is there a convenient workaround to beat this design flaw?

Use a different gmail account for your youtube account or for your personal email account don't use gmail.

Well I've had my gmail for a really long time and really like it. Don't want to get rid of it, which is why I'm asking in here.

I have a separate gmail account and a separate youtube account. But I can't be logged into both at the same time it seems, which is a huge pain. Unless there is a trick that I'm missing.

WHen I'm in youtube I don't have that option. I don't even have a youtube channel set up, it wants me to make one and I'm not going to. But still if I'm logged into one google product then I'm logged into all google products with that email it seems, user doesn't get a choice.

UNLESS there's a workaround...

Even connecting to one of them via proxy isn't working, google logs me into the personal gmail account on youtube automatically without my permission.

Awhile back google alerted everyone that they would be merged into one account for easier management. There was a way to assign which youtube account you wanted associated with you're email etc. Not sure if you can still do it.

If you aren't going to make your own channel then why does it matter if you have to log-in or not?

chrome used to allow multiple separate google account sign ins. now i have to use separate browsers to keep them separate. the current multiple sign in isn't the same thing.
