How can i move songs from ipod to computer?

my friend's computer just went ka-boom and she had to format her hdd, thus losing all of her songs. her ipod is still working, is there any software that will allow me to move songs from ipod to computer? I tried to installed ephpod, but when it asks me to select my ipod from a pulldown list, it is not shown. and yes, the ipod is plugged in.

Plugin the ipod. DO NOT LET ITUNE OPEN. Open the ipod thru windows explorer. Turn on "Show Hidden Files" via the tools menu and folder options. A folder called music will appear. Copy all 50 folders to her HD. Import the songs into iTunes and it will organize the mess for you.

well its good to know that is second way. i instaleld a program called CopyPod and this allows me to take individual (and all of them as well) songs.
