How can I modify my case to keep the volume of the Delta 68CFM quiet?

Is there a way that I can modify my Antec SX1030B to keep the Delta 68CFM fan quiet, or at least not that noisy? If so, can I also use this for an 80CFM Delta?

I am just asking this because I will get either a Delta 68CFM, a Delta 80CFM, or a YS-Tech 48CFM @ 37dBA.

If I can modify my case somehow, I want to get the most powerful of the three. If not, then I will get the most quiet.

You could isolate the case by putting it under water... j/k

Check out www.7volts.com for quieting tips. You will not be able to keep those fans quiet. You can only minimize your insanity, not eliminate it. I'd suggest using Panaflo L1 or H1 fans.

Powerful case fans are not necessary on sx-antecs, the things practically cool themselves.

If you're talking about the fan on the cpu heatsink, then more specific info would be helpful- what heatsink are you talking about, and what are you trying to accomplish? Max overclock, max quiet, or some compromise?

The fan I want is for my Alpha PAL8045. I already have four Antec fans on the case. Each of these fans is 34CFM @ 30dBA.

Apparently you want to overclock, OK by me. The point of diminished returns with fans on the alpha is very low in terms of airflow, just because the sink works so well. Go with the quietest of the fans you mentioned, little if any gain will be realized with more noise/cfm, IMHO.

Noise control is best realized by picking quiet components in the first place- minor improvements are possible with damping or sound absorption materials, keep in mind that minor is the operative word, you can spend a fortune trying to kill noise and get nowhere....

You have the exactly same situation as I have. I have Antec KS-188 full size case. It was very loud with Delta fan on. So I put it into the closet in the room, close the door. It's much better.

Good luck.
