How can I make my own restore disk?

I know it sounds simple, but I want to install Windows, download the updates, install all current drivers and be able to create a restore disk that has all the data ready to install at a DOS prompt. So that at anytime I can just format C: and install the OS and updates at once. Does anyone know if this is possible? I know Nero can copy an entire partition, but can I create a restore disk with it? What do I need to do this, and how do I use it?

Buy Norton Ghost or drive image pro.
Make image of the drive after you have installed all the updates/progs etc. There is an option to split the image. Use it to make 650 or 700 mb parts(depending on what CD's you have). If you have newest ghost or drive image you can write directly to a CD and I think Ghost makes the CD bootable as well.
If you choose to save the images to a hard drive then Start nero, choose bootable CD. Put a win 98/me boot floopy (with CD support) in the floopy drive. choose the option that says use the floopy for boot image.) Add the program (ghost or drive image, you might need other files depending on the prog) to the CD, add the image file to the CD. burn image. Do this for other image files.( note that only first CD has to be bootable.)
Imprtant: Test the CDs created to be good before deleting the images from your hard drive.

There is a program called Easy Restore that does just that. Made by powerquest and it uses Drive Image.

Several computer mfg's use their own customized verison of it. Its real simple and small to run with step by step instructions.. assuming you can find it. Dont think Powerquest sells it anymore.

Whole thing is only 2.6mb in size including instructions in pdf file.

If your familiar with drive image or ghost you can just use those as previously suggested.
