What dumbass lotteries have you been playing? Most states give out payments over the course of twenty years by default. Usually, the winner is also free to choose to be given a somewhat smaller (roughly half) lump sum immediately instead.

American lottories suck. In Canada, we get lump sums and, get this, winnings are TAX FREE!! That;s the way it should be, not, "you won $25 million from us (the gov't), but we are going to take back $13 million". WTF is up with that?
