How can I make a DOS bootdisk from Windows XP?

I don't think you can (since XP is not a dos-based OS). But you can download the image from bootdisk.com and copy it to a floppy. Remember if you are using NTFS that a dos boot disk won't help you in XP, you can only use it if you chose FAT partition.

edit: You can make a set of boot disks specifically for XP ( I think it is 3-6 total floppies), but I don't remember how. Maybe rerun the installation disk and choose that option or consult your WinXP help menu.

<< To create an MS-DOS startup disk
The MS-DOS startup disk you create will allow you to boot into MS-DOS.

Insert a floppy disk into your computer's floppy drive.
Open My Computer, and then click the floppy disk drive to select it.
On the File menu, point to the name of the floppy drive, and then click Format.
Under Format options, click Create an MS-DOS startup disk.
Click Start.
Important

Creating an MS-DOS startup disk erases all information on the floppy disk.

umm... no, its not.

nope, i have a dos disk with an ntfs driver on it.

You right click on a drive select format/create startup disk. Press ok a couple of times and you have it. It is a dos startup disk, no matter what filesystem you are running.
