try extracting an image and then burning that. Discjuggler, for example would be useful.

Just a thought

I discovered my problem, and also my solution.

Seems that my Plextor PX-W1610 drive will copy the WarIII disk using the standard DiskDupe2000 copy program that came with the drive, however, it can not handle playing the copy.

My generic 52x player will play the copy though, strange that the Plextor will not.

I don't own WC3, haven't played it... but I would guess it uses SecuRom (Diablo2 uses it)... to make a working backup copy, you need to read the subchannels. CloneCD will do this perfectly, assuming you have a drive that can also read the subs.

Yeah some of us who do shell out hard earned money for games like warcraft DO want to backup their OWN software. Besides, you can't play WC3 on b-net without a CD key...and the single player missions are really not that engaging or long.
