How can I install an S-ATA on my Asus A7N8X-X?

I bought a WD Raptor 10k rpm S-ATA drive today, and wanted to connect it to this motherboard. I guess I should have checked first. 🙂

Anyways, is there a way? I have TWO of these motherboards.. grrr..

PS: If I have to trade this HD in for another Ultra133 drive or whatever, what's the best brand name at the moment?

Back to square one. You can either sell the boards and buy new ones, or buy SATA adapters. Those are good boards, so if SATA means that much to you, you should be able to get enough for them to come close to breaking even, either way.

Or you can just sell the drives and be satisfied with ATA133. Unless you really have some application where the faster read/write speed really makes a difference, that's what I'd do.

Well last question. If I buy an SATA card, can I install this Raptor drive through it as my primary master?

It won't actually be your "primary master", but you can have windows recognize it as your c: drive by unplugging all of your other drives during the windows install. Once the install is complete, you can plug your other dirves back in and they will be recognized as higher drive letters.
