My father in law gave me some old computer parts.

I have in my habds and AGP 3dfx card with TV out. But what is it?

i've been here and here but I'm not going to remove the heatsing to look at the chip....

I'd be grateful if one of you knowlegdable folks has any clue about this... :D

AFAIK the 3500 was the only card with a TV tuner, but not the only one with more basic VIVO functions?

Any way you can get a pic of the card, the V3's are very easy to recognize.

A lot of their cards had TV-out capabilities, but the V3 3500 was the only one with a full TV/Video editing slant. If its just TV-out, it doesn't really narrow it down much.

There are a couple of programs that might be able to ID the card fully. Sisoft Sandra is usually pretty good at reading the hardware vendor ID's and versions/revisions of the hardware. Its free, and if it doesn't get you the info you can always un-install it.

Actually TV out does help.
The 3500 had a connection for an octopus dangle type thingamabob.
No svideo on card. TV out and everything was done through dangle.

The 3000 had just a normal svideo output. No composite. No dangle connector.

Here is a 3000PCI, without TV out.
3000 AGP looks identical except has svideo out and a heatsink without fan.
3dfx 3000 PCI

It's easy to find 3dfx info.
Just type use IE's search and type in the address bar stuff like:
3dfx 3000
or
3dfx 3500.
or whatever.
Lot's of photos.

:D it's dongle, not dangle! dangle makes it sound like the card is a tease, or something :D

Chances are it's a V3 3000 AGP with 4 pin svideo out.

V3 1000 (OEM), V3 2000 AGP/PCI, and V3 3000 PCI didn't have any TV out.

V3 3500 had a cable to break out box.

this is true for the retail market, but a couple oem vendors (mac being one of them) also made some other variations.. but these gentlemen are correct: a picture is worth 1000 words. or put the card in you computer and make sure you comp is booting off of it, and set your motherboard bios to "shadow video bios." then once u restart, it should echo what the vid card's brand/model, etc is.
