Easy, I have torn my quadriceps and just had the opp done , I cant really work out at the moment. I know cardio would help me burn up more fat but is there anything I can eat to help me ?

Cheers

Having recovered from a pretty serious knee injury myself, my suggestion would be not to worry too much about metabolism/burning calories while hurt. Concentrate on getting well first, you will have all the time in the world to get your fitness/metabolism back up.

There are two ways to avoid weight gain - eating less and exercising more.

I'd recommend number "b"

Eat 5-6 small meals a day (3 hours or so between meals/snacks) compared to 3 large meals a day. This is supposed to keep your metabolism up while not changing your calorie intake drastically.

lower your calorie intake since you are not able to burn as rapidly. Lean protein and unbleached whole wheat fiber is good.

Couple easy things you can do are drink a lot of water and eat smaller, more frequent meals.
