I'm building a dodecahedron out of PVC and I want to 'skin' it with cardboard. How can I get the cardboard faces to attach to the PVC skeleton?

Mind, this is only for illustrative purposes. I'm going to build this and take a bunch of shots and then destroy it so it only has to hold for a little while and not much weight. Just the cardboard and paint.

Can I get away with a standard hot glue gun as opposed to the 'industrial' hot glue guns?

This is easiest imo,

if you don't want the zip ties showing, I'd then say the hot glue

Gorilla glue expands as it cures and holds better than hot glue. But yeah, for something temporary hot glue should be fine and certainly sets up faster.

drill tiny holes and tie them together with fishing line

you can test it, but i'm thinking hot glue will not stick to pvc at all
