How can I get this file off my girlfriends computer?

Well, I knew it would happen, less than one week after I got done college for summer SP2 came out. My computer is not hooked up to the net right now cuz I dont have a modem yet. So I downloaded SP2 on my gf's computer at school, now I have no way to get it off her computer. I am thinking the only way I can do it is to either borrow her HD, make it a slave and get it off there, or to stick my burner in her rig and hook it up and burn it to cd. Any other options?

probably need more than a network cable and 2 nics to network 2 computers, right? I'll probably just ghetto rig up my burner in her computer, install some software and burn it.

Not really ... 2 NICs + 1 crossover cable (and your puter, goes without saying) - et voila. But, if you're going this far, you might as well either drag her HDD into your system, or the other way round (will give you less grief, for having your GF's puter not operational). I think the "healthiest" option would be either CD-burner or bringing in your own HDD .

All you need to network two computers is 2 nics, and a patch cable that has the crossover in it (so you don't have to run it through a hub).

I don't know how big that file is, but the easiest way might be to use WinZip to span it accross several floppy disks. Just create a zip file on A:, then add the file, and winzip will automatically ask you to insert disk 2, 3, etc.

Huh, I will probably do the HDD thing, but the networking thing is interesting none the less. So once I have the crossover cable what do I do? Does it setup the network automatically or what? Interested for future reference. Could you play a 2 computer network game like this? Thanks for all the input guys.

Use a direct cable connetion (parallel) or a crossover cable (assuming ethernet cards exist in both sys).

Or take a spare old hard drive and slave it to her system and then again to yours. Or not deal with SP2 for a while since I've heard some people grumbling about it removing some features.
