I am looking at buying a riding lawn mower on ebay but the ones I want to buy must be picked up as the seller won't ship.

Aren't there companies that will load and deliver for a fee?

well if the shipper is unwilling to coordinate with the shipping company, u'd be screwed. is it really that much cheaper on ebay after the shipping fees?

You'll have to arrange pick up with a freight company. It will probably cost you a couple hundred dollars though. Maybe more.

And most freight companies won't drop it off at your house, you'd have to pick it up from their depot

how much are you saving on the mower to go through all this trouble?

Few people bid on the mowers that I'm interested in and I think it is because they seller won't ship.

If I had to buy the same mower (it's actually a mower attachment) locally, it would have to be purchased new for $2100. I can get them for around $800 on ebay.

Who loaded it onto the semi? Is it the responsibilty of the seller or the hauling company?

the seller loaded but it came from MGE directly so they probably had open contract... unloading it was a pain.. i had to get 6 guys to help.. and it wasn't part of their job to unload
