How can i get over my pron addiction?

Buy content restrictive software and have a trusted friend make up the password that allows you to change the settings. Have him lock up everything that depicts what you would like to stop seeing, leave with the password, and promise not to give it to you unless he's there and can verify its necessary to work on your computer for some reason.

I don't know how easy it is to get around these passwords or even if the blocking software works. I have Norton firewall and it has content blocking options, but I don't know if they work or not.

Not the best solution, but it would take away pron as an option when you're just bored. Once you start finding other things to do, you might not look to pron when you're bored.

There has to be a reason to stop. If you believe in God and the bible, there are plenty of reasons within the bible. According to the bible lust is one of the most detremental sins, as it is a sin against yourself, and Jesus as he is part of you, once you accept him. With and without faith, pornography is very hard to escape, as it is so in your face and easily accessible, but it can be done. Looking at it from a christian standpoint, here is why not to look at porn:

It is sinful.
It is degrading to myself, my God, and the person in the pictures.
My body is a temple, I should treat it as such.
I should "save" myself for my future wife, pornography + marriage is not a good mix.

Here are reasons not to look at porn from both a christian and a non-christian standpoint:

It is hurtful/degrading to the women in the pictures.
Sex becomes jaded, and not very special as you sink deeper and deeper into porn.
It is addictive.
Picture yourself as a father, with a daughter, would you want your daughter's husband to be addicted to porn? You would only want the best for your daughter, why not want the best for you?
Your wife deserves your full attention with no comparisons.

Pornography is taken pretty lightly, especially on these forums, but I personally think it is a problem.

the best thing to do (if you cant find a woman) is to force yourself not to look at porn for as long as possible. after a few days, the urge to do it slowly goes away, and it gets easier.

Whenever you get the urge to look at pron, refocus your attention to something else to get your mind off of it. Try to hold out for as long as possible if you can. Then next time you want to look at pron, refocus and try to resist it longer than the previous time.
