How can I get line count in notepad/wordpad

Nothing that I am aware in the over 10 years of playing with those packages. Help files do not containing any references to counts

Best way is to get a free editor that contains line count options.

Try this one.

In notepad go View --> Status Bar, it will tell you what line the cursor is currently on.

But TextPad is a much better solution.

You can get the line count in Notepad. Not sure how to get it in Wordpad though.

In notepad ensure your wordwrap is off by Format->Wordwrap unticked.

Now from whichever line you are on in Notepad, press CTRL G. It will show you the line number you are on and also let you goto (jump to) any line number in the text file.

How do you find this stuff (thread I mean)? Like postmark mentioned, this thing is almost 10 years old!
