how can i get a single file out of an exe?

i need a dos driver for a intel 8255x nic.just the dos driver,not everything else that comes with it.i run the exe to extract the files but it does not complete.i am making a network boot disk for sony vaio.thanks
 
If it's a self extracting Zip file Winzip will open it, if it's a self extracting RAR WinRAR will open it, if it's a .... you get the idea.
