How can I force Warcraft 3 to run at 85HZ?

Ok, I run my desktop at 1024x768x32bit 85HZ on a Sony G420S 19 inch flatscreen. I don't like 100HZ for some reason so I stick to 85HZ. Most of my games run at the same refresh rate as my desktop. Some like BF1942 run at 60HZ. But in BF1942 there is a option you can edit outside of the game to pick refresh rates and now I can play in 85HZ. Warcraft 3 is another story. No matter what resolution I set my desktop or game to it stays at 75HZ. Does anyone know of a way to make Warcraft 3 run at 85HZ?

I can easily see what resolution and refresh rate I run in game by pushing the menu button on my monitor.

What operating system?

Win2k or XP you usually have to have a utility that allows you to set the default refresh rate for each resolution.

Try using this utility to automatically choose the optimal refresh rate for each resolution.

RefreshForce

I use it and it works great! Works with every brand of videocard and monitor too.

I'm using XP pro with all the latest drivers and updates.

The funny thing about warcraft 3 is that it doesn't use the same refresh rate as my desktop.

My desktop 1024x768x32bit 85HZ

If I launch WC3 it goes to 1024x768x32bit 75HZ

I alt tab out to windows it's back to 85HZ, go back to WC3 its 75HZ again.

NM it worked! Thanks budman!

I got confused, I tried that DXDIAG thing on BF1942 and it didn't work on that but it worked on WC3!

Thanks. so now my desktop will always be 85HZ no matter the resolution?

Go to Nvidia control panel and under d3d properties, you can override the setting sfor each resolution. Have you done that?? Or you can try downloading powerstrip which will help you lock your games in 85ghz in both OpenGL and D3d.

RivaTuner is an excellent tool to use for the purpose of overriding refresh rates. If you have a Ti4200 you should probably try it anyway since it very nicely organizes all the different video card and driver options available, including overclocking.
