How can I find were itunes downloads the firmware?

When you open up iTunes, have your iPod connected, and look at the summary page where it shows the picture of your iPod, and gives you control over whether you "Manually add songs", etc... In the middle of that panel, it says in bold lettering, "Version". You can update it there. Just click "Update" and it will check to make sure that it has the latest firmware.

I know how to update my ipod. Last weekend i found out how to get Itunes to force install a firmware, so I was looking for the Firmware file so i can use ipod wizard and then use Itunes to dump the firmware on 😉

(custom firmware -> hold Option and click update) 😉
