How can I find information about an ip?

casimec's link is a good one ... another easy way is to use geektools.com whois command ... type in the IP and it spits out the current owner of the ip address -- you can do the same type of whois query at www.arin.net ...

if he has a static IP it wont be hard to track him down, if not it could be a problem. But if he is static you can always get some frineds(with big pipes, think T3's) and DOS him for a week and see what he thinks about impersonating you then.

it will give you the hops and route to the target...

You are lucky that it was a moderator who could not find the nuke button. I do know where the button is, so I would suggest that you might want to reconsider attacking a mod for doing their job.

I've sent you guys a PM describing how you're getting an IP from a proxy in colorado and tracing it to me in CA. It's like saying you live in New York, it must be you!

upon inspection, it does not respond to pings, upon further inspection is seems to be a router/firewall box, ports are filtered. hope that helps.

the ip they see me as is on a proxy or firewall in boulder, colorado.

I am in San Jose.

My ip is on the intranet which connects to the internet(outside world) through the boulder location.

32.97.110.73 you wouldnt be using to much of YOUR bannwidth thats why i said get someone with a BIG pipe like a t3 to DOS him for you, taking down someone on cable with a T3 or Dual T3's wont even make a differnce to the guy on the T3(as long as he doesn allocate ALL his bannwidth to it).
