How can I extract DirectX 8.1 from WinXP CD?

Is it possible to extract DirectX 8.1 from the WinXP Pro CD? I need to reinstall it, as I'm having some directshow problems. I can't find it located in any .cab files. I don't want to completely reinstall WinXP again! Help!
 
Those won't install under WinXP! Why should I have to download another copy, if there is one on the WinXP CD? Does any computer geek out there know how to extract it from the CD? Is it in a CAB file? I can't find a DirectX 8.1 setup file on the XP CD.

Can't you use system restore and just roll back to before you had directshow problems?
