How Can I Connect Headphones (without a mixing board)...

Most headphones will run off a line out jack, but would be better to have a jack from a circuit that was actually designed for headphones, but a good headphone amp can cost as much as many sound cards.

Most line out jacks are designed to provide one or two milliamps into a 600-ohm load, not a few dozen milliamps into a 32-ohm load. I wouldn't.
