How can I connect a laptop and desktop, to one Laser?

I have a compaq 6000z connected to my toshiba laptop 1115-s103 by crossover cable. I have a Minolta PagePro 1250w laser printer connected by USB 1.1 to the laptop.

How can I print from the desktop and the laptop?

laptop is usb 1.1
desktop is usb 2.0

I have bought a Belkin cardbus to bring the laptop to 2.0.
I also just bought a Belkin Fast USB 2.0 hub

I just set up my first XP network over the weekend....newbie here

Just connect the printer to one of the computers. Make sure that computer has file/printer sharing enabled. Then run the 'add printer wizard' from the other PC and have it look for a network printer.
