Go to benchmarking modules, then file system benchmark. Select the HDD you want to bench. It should give you the result in a few minutes.

My WD 200GB ATA/100 (Secondary Slave) did 48MB/s. External USB2.0 Maxtor 250GB did 26MB/s.
