How can I backup my e-mail's from outlook before a reformat?

I'm not sure what forum this really fits under, so I'm putting it in this one .

I know that there is the feature in outlook to backup messages (which is what I want), but I can't for the love of me figure out where it is backing them up to!

Can anyone help me out?

I think I found what I want in Application settings, in a dir called "{A499DF31-7450-4DDC-9403-436670A512BA}"...

blame Canada, eh?
I'm just going to use this for now, but I'll back up all my goods, and send everything to a secondary e-mail address as well jsut to be sure...

Does anyone know the *right* way of doing this?

Windows>application data>identities>big long ass chain of #'s and letters>microsoft>outlook express.

Or, do a search for *.dbx

Back them up. You can restore them via Outlook's import feature. File>import>messages>select type.

Or, you can print them out and re-enter them via keyboard at a later date. My former boss did this. *boggles*

Wooster: Do yourself a favor and get Free Agent by Forte. I think the link is: http://www.forteinc.com. There's also a full version just called "Agent" but that's not free. Both are excellent readers and much better than Outlook Express.

If you browse through your options in OE, there's a button on the Maintenance tab I believe called Store Folder which will let you change the folder your files get saved in.

The *.pst-option is the best I can think of...
Just copy it, after your reinstallation you can import the file very easily...

Actually I did tried out Agent (too complicated). I just need a simple news reader just like old Netacape Messager offer. Too bad Netscape is getting worst than ever. I have Outlook came with MS Office 2000. Just don't know how to use it.
