How can I add text to mulitple pictures?

Say if I had like 1,000 pictures and I wanted to add something like a copyright message at the bottom of each one. Is there a program or anything I can do to make this easy? if it matters, they are JPG format

You can use Adobe Photoshop's batch and action process. Have a picture open, once it's open hit the record button for the new action. Start putting whatever text you would and whatever you need on the pic. After you're done you can save it, close it, and hit stop on the action pallette. From there go to file and there is a option near the bottom with batch, from there you can go ahead and choose the directory you want to use your action on. Hope this helps.

Will this method work if the pics are all different resolutions.. will it know to put the text in say the bottom left corner on each picture, regardless of the size?

You could always re-size them to one resolution.

I'm not very sure, you'd be better off asking at a Photoshop forum like www.tutorialforums.com.

Irfanview will let you do it while resizing and what-not at the same time using its Batch menu option.
