How can ATTBI charge me for the time that my service is shut off?

Okay, well.. I haven't been able to pay my cable bill, and my service was shut off.. I have no problem with that, except...

They're charging me for the time that it isn't on. I just got my new bill today, and it's like 150$. How can they charge me for the time that it has been off? Do you see what I'm saying?

My old bill was ~100$. That's fine. Aren't they supposed to keep sending you that bill of 100$ until you pay it, so they can turn your service back on? No, they tacked another month onto the bill and sent it to me.

Is this normal? Why should I have to pay for the time that it's shut off?

Why don't you ask them instead of us? :)

It was probably a mistake. They'll reverse the charges for services you didn't receive.

ATTBI is still trying to get 1000$ dollars out of me and continues to bill me every month even though I canceled on August 15 and returned both of my boxes. I have faxed them receipts, lease copies, current cable bills from other companies, etc. They still continue to bill and harass me.

I say fvck it. No use in trying to deal with them because I have done everything...

Unfortunately that has the potential to severely screw up your credit, you might want to get it dealt with.

Maybe they have a reactivation fee? I've never enjoyed my dealings with that corporation so I steer clear of them now.

Not that I know of... This has happened before, but I've never let it go long enough I guess..

You need to call THEM and straighten it out.

I know that but due to the fact that ATTBI seems to trip over their own shoelaces all I can do is wait until they report it to one of the bureaus and then dispute it.

well attbi is known for crap customer service. so i wish you luck. call immediately and remember, always write down the full names of the people you deal with.

Surely there must be SOME more proactive way of doing it.

Perhaps your complaints would have more impact if they were printed on a lawyer's letterhead?

Complain to your States Attorney General. They will get it recified. ;)
