Are we talking from ear to ear? I doubt it...

All you'd need to do really is slit one of your jugulars. Nothing a sharp blade and a quick, firm stroke couldn't accomplish.

Or even a well placed stab with a large enough knife. Who knows what "his throat was cut" means to the examiner. It could mean a 2" wound or 'his head was dangling by his spinal cord.' Those death certificate descriptions are always ludicrously vague.

i would do multiple things "just in case"

probably like a bullet to the head after ingesting ridiculous amounts of illicit substances in a room with a BBQ grill

I knew Charlie when he lived in LA. He was a pretty intense dude.
I know he was a heavy user of at least one snortable drug. And he was really good friends with a mechanic friend of mine, who’s closest friend, was Charlie Sheen’s coke dealer. The mechanic did some custom high end work in exchange for coke and hung with a much younger hot rod crowd that did both meth and coke. CR visited the mechanic and loved to get high and help out. He also had his own Studebaker coupe SBC 383 project that he kept drivable and drive daily during the restoration. Last time I saw it, it was done except for paint. At the time, he lived in a downtown LA loft with a roll up door so he could drive the car into the living room. Very cool pad. That was the Murphy Brown time period, for reference. I was very surprised to hear of his demise and always will suspect murder.
